Affiliate program question
I found myself wondering something about internet affiliate programs recently. I applied for the Disney Movie affiliate program, thinking I’d place it on my entertainment blog. My application was declined. Now here’s my question. If it’s free to join an affiliate program, and if both the advertiser and the publisher make money if someone clicks on an ad, why would they decline an ad? If nothing else it would be getting their brand noticed, even if noone did click on it. So does anyone know the logic behind this? I really would like to know.

Part of the problem lies with the companies themselves. Once they have a certain level of popularity they get really pompous about who they deal with as affiliates (ok, site age, visits etc affects their decisions as well). Many of these companies seem to forget that they had to start somewhere as well.
My discount codes site has been up for a few months. It currently has low traffic because I’ve been lazy just recently (that’s attitude is changing now :)) so I’ve been denied access to some affiliate programmes on that basis!
