How to turn off the Wordpress visual editor

Have you ever wondered how to turn off the visual editor in Wordpress so you could just work directly with the code? If so then this post is for you. Log in to your Wordpress dashboard. Click on the Users link up at the top. If you’re the only one writing on your blog, click on the profile link. If more than one of you write on your blog, then find the author id you wish to change and click edit. Up at the top is a box labeled Personal Options.  Uncheck the box and click update. You’re finished. How easy was that!

  2. Some people prefer to just work in code. Others want to turn it off because once in a while there’s things that just gets a little wonky if the code editor is on.

  3. My problem is…once it was turned off I could never turn it back on–and that is a HUGE bummer!!

I am so glad to hear you can turn that off! When I try to use the visual editor the code gets weird and my post does not end up appearing as I would like to to on the page.

  5. That’s happened to me as well. Some things just don’t like that visual editor.
