The difference between an announcement and a sticky post
I use the plugin Lester Chan’s WP Sticky on almost all of my blogs. It’s a terrific plugin that allows me to leave a specific post above all others, no matter what it’s age is. Recently another blogger asked what the difference was between an announcement and a sticky post. Here’s the answer.
An announcement post will stay at the top of your blog, above all other posts, no matter what the age.
A sticky post stays at the top of a day’s posts if there are multiple posts. If this option is not selected, you could make three posts and the first would go to the bottom of a day, the second would appear above that and the third would appear on the top. If the option was selected in the same situation, you could make the second (or third) post appear on the top even though it wasn’t the newest.
I hope that helps.
