SezWho shutting down

Friday, March 27th, 2009

Last year I posted about SezWho, a comment service that had been added to the Entrecard system. In yesterday’s email I saw a post from the Entrecard feed that said it SezWho was shutting down due to lack of funding. Entrecard was recommending users switch to JS-Kit. I’ll take a look at the JS-Kit, which is supposed to be. I’d had problems with SezWho where after I added it things weren’t visible on my site the world’s largest distributed social network. Will you be switching to JS-Kit?

What sort of paid ads Entrecard won’t accept

Friday, March 20th, 2009

I saw another message from the Entrecard feed in yesterday’s email. Addressing the concern about the ads that will be sold on the Entrecard network, we were informed what sort of ads won’t be sold – “Male enhancement ads, Adult themed ads, Any ad that links to a site with nudity, Gambling / Casino Ads and Ads for drugs of any kind”. I still have a concern about the ads but I’m willing to try it and see how it goes. My only worry is that we all have differing views of what is inappropriate or offensive so we may not all agree about an ad.

Entrecard revises rules on placement and ad rejection

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

I subscribe to the Entrecard feed by email and I got an interesting post yesterday. This one said the decision to have to pay to reject ads had been reversed. The post continued to say that they were flexible on the new, upcoming above the fold rule and that it had been changed. Placement of the widget will now need to be within one page down on a screen resolution of 1900×1200.

EntreCard

Sunday, March 15th, 2009

Entrecard sent an email yesterday announcing that they would be launching an ad network and a credit cashout service in the following week. If I’ve understood it correctly the email states that Entrecard will be selling 125×125 advertising to third parties and that those ads would run either across the network or by category. The estimated number of ads is 40 million monthly impressions. Bloggers would be able to reject the ad if they paid a fee to do so. Members will also be able to sell credits for cash from their dashboard. Lastly, a rule requiring Entrecard widgets to be above the fold in order to remain active in the netwprk.

Entrecard toolbar

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

Recently Entrecard released the Entrecard toolbar. It’s especially helpful for people like me that have more than one blog, although any Entrecard user would find it helpful. On the far left is a pulldown menu that allows users to switch the Entrecard account they’re dropping with on the fly. The next menu, from the left side, shows you how many credits you have in the Entrecard account you’re logged into and how many drops you’ve made that day. The next menu after that will take you to your favorites and all of the categories. The last menu on the far right allows you to choose what types of sites you want to drop or advertise on. The little green arrows allow you to navigate to the next site and the next ten sites. The Entrecard toolbar is free and works on Firefox 2 and 3.

Entrecard Credits News

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

Many of you have either heard of Entrecard, know what Entrecard is or use Entrecard. Well, the gang at Entrecard is at it again. Earlier this week Entrecard announced some big news. Entrecard users are now able to buy Entrecard credits directly from Entrecard from a link in the dashboard. There’s more. Bloggers will now earn Entrecard credits every time they publish a post on their blog. Bloggers are eligible to receive 25 credits each time they write a post. The only catch is that this is limited to receiving credits every three days. Lastly, you can earn Entrecard credits by writing on the Entrecard blog. The number of credits a blogger receives depends on the topic, value and quality of the post he/she writes. That’s it for now! Happy dropping!

New Entrecard ebook and multiple blog feature

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

Entrecard has upgraded once again! This time around they’ve added something many people including myself have been looking forward to - multiple blogs. That’s right, Entrecard users can now have more than one blog on one account. Until now, if you wanted to place Entrecard on several of your blogs you had to set up separate accounts. It’s easy to link blogs under one account, but if you aren’t sure how, you’ll really like hearing this. Entrecard has released an official ebook. The Entrecard e-book contains all of the info you want to know about Entrecard including what it is, how to use it, where to place it, tips and strategies.
