Paid Blogging - Smorty - update

Monday, February 25th, 2008

Back in November I wrote about a paid blogging company called Smorty. Earlier this year I logged in to Smorty one day and saw a message stating “No blogs that have PayPerPost articles existing on the blog and no PayPerPost advertising either please”. I was surprised to see it. PayPerPost has opportunities available on a regular basis, whereas since I joined Smorty I only saw the same three to five opportunities for $6 each over and over again. I decided if Smorty was going to make me choose between them and PayPerPost then I was going with PayPerPost. The opportunities pay better, there are more opportunities, they don’t expect a dofollow link for forever and most importantly they don’t tell me who I can and cannot work with. I emailed Smorty yesterday asking how to delete my blog. They replied back within a day with an answer. I did log in today and delete two blogs I had listed with them. Bye bye. Who else saw this message and how did you handle it?

Paid blogging - Blogsvertise

Sunday, January 6th, 2008

Fifth in my series on paid blogging is Blogsvertise. I personally have not hear from them much, I don’t think there are many opportunities there.

Blogsvertise, at www.blogsvertise.com, accepts applications for blogs that are willing to write about websites, products and services. To be accepted applicants must have a blog older than thirty days that is updated regularly. It also can not have adult content. Disclosure is not required, nor is it mentioned anywhere on their site. Once approved bloggers are able to accept opportunities. Bloggers will receive an email each time a new assignment becomes available for them. The blogger needs to log in and accept or reject the assignment. If you accept an assignment you have five days to complete it and submit it for approval or it will expire. Submitted posts should contain 75 words or more and contain the three links provided by the advertiser. Blogsvertise requires that your posts be permanent. According to their website assignments may pay anywhere from $4 to $25, and that bloggers on probation may only receive $2 per assignment. Bloggers are paid by Paypal after the post has been up for thirty days.

Paid blogging - Bloggerwave

Sunday, December 16th, 2007

Bloggerwave is based in Norway. I submitted one of my blogs for approval, which it received. On 10/09/07 I wrote my first post for the company. The post was about Bloggerwave, and was to pay $10. The post was neither positive or negative, it simply included some basic information about applying and writing for them. Since signing up, I have only ever seen one available opportunity for bloggerwave, and it was the $10 opp I jus mentioned. Bloggerwave is supposed to pay bloggers at 30 days. It’s been more than sixty days and I still haven’t received the payment due me. I have sent emails numerous times requesting the status of my payment and have never received an answer. Clearly they do not value communication or good support. I am writing this post to warn other bloggers not to waste their time on Bloggerwave. I’m not the only blogger that they’ve cheated, but would love to be the last. I am taking the post I wrote down and moving on. I am fortunate that the other companies I accept work from are far more responsible and reliable. I’m hoping other bloggers that have had this happen to them will write about it to warn others.

Paid blogging - Pay Per Post, part I

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

Third in my little mini series on paid blogging is Pay Per Post. I am doing a review of Pay Per Post as it works now, because it is going to change in the near future. After the changes have been made and have been in place a short while I will probably review it again under its new format. To that end, I am adding the phrase part I to this post’s title.

Bloggers may submit their original content blogs for approval to the Pay Per Post Marketplace if their blogs are in English, after their blogs are over three months old, have at least twenty posts, contain chronological archives. The blogger is required to provide disclosure, either on a per post or site wide basis. There are a few types of blogs that will automatically be rejected, and they are no follow blogs, photoblogs, blogs made up of other peoples content, blogs written with multiple authors, and blogs existing only for money.
Once accepted, bloggers select four categories that their blog will fit in. Their opportunities will fall within the categories they select. To view opportunities, a blogger logs in and sees any open opportunities available to him/her. Bloggers are able to accept three opportunities per day. Opportunities start at $5 each and go much higher the better your blog is ranked. Minimum requirements for the post are set by the advertiser. Once an opportunity is accepted, it must be completed and submitted within six hours. Payment is made at thirty days if the opportunity is approved. Pay Per Post pays bloggers by PayPal, and payments are made almost every day, thirty days after a post is submitted.

Paid blogging - Smorty

Saturday, November 3rd, 2007

Continuing my mini series on paid blogging, I’d like to tell you about Smorty.
Smorty is another popular company that offers both the chance to advertise on blogs and to blog for money. To blog for money there are some requirements to get your blog approved. Some of the mandatory ones are that your blog approved it must be indexed by the search engines, be three months old or more, be active and contain at least two new posts weekly, not have duplicate content, and not have adult, hate or violent content.
Once approved bloggers are able to accept opportunities. As new opportunities become available, bloggers receive an email telling them about it. If you want to take the opportunity, just log in and accept. Once an opportunity is accepted you have three days to complete it and submit it for approval. In order to get paid for blogging the opportunity, submitted posts should be 150 words or more, unique, relevant to the opportunity, and include whatever one link the advertiser gives. Bloggers are paid weekly by Paypal.

Paid blogging - PayU2Blog

Friday, November 2nd, 2007

Since this blog has covered how to install wordpress and some other related things, I thought it might be a good time to start a mini series of posts on paid blogging. The first one I will cover is PayU2Blog. PayU2Blog assigns bloggers opportunities, rather than bloggers choosing opportunities. When a blogger signs up he/she agrees to take all posts assigned. Most of the opportunities are $5. The blogger is required to write a post with a minimum of sixty words and include the assigned link. That’s all. PayU2Blog pays bloggers every two weeks by Paypal.
